Casual Youth Worker – Education Day Programme

Are you passionate about working with young people and seeing them thrive and learn?

Do you enjoy the challenge of working young people who have been disengaged from school?

This is a great part time opportunity to work in a fun and supportive environment for a youth worker who wants part-time, day-time hours. Working 1:1 with a young man, and assisting a small group of students, you will be:

• Motivating and supporting young people with their Te Kura Correspondence School education learning;
• Taking young people on activity outings or to therapy sessions;
• Mentoring and being a sounding board to young people;
• Supporting whanau members;
• Having input into professionals’ meetings;
• Providing backup to the Programme Co-ordinator


• Teamwork mindset
• Proven experience in youth work or education sector
• Youth Work or Education qualifications e.g. BYD, Praxis or Similar Qualification or working towards them, and/or equivalent experience
• Ability to start immediately or at short notice


• Must be reliable and willing to work in the eastern suburbs of Wellington
• Full clean Driver License essential
• This is a casual role of up to 20 hours per week
