Part-Time Volunteer organisation support: Administration, social media, marketing
We are the Social Change Collective, a volunteer-run platform to connect people to the social issues in our community to facilitate social change.
We host bi-monthly events on topical social or environmental issues that we and our guests want to be better informed about. We strive to end each event with a selection of Actions that each guest can easily sign up to, so that they can contribute to making social change in our New Zealand community. We’re not trying to double-up with all the awesome organisations already out there committed to solving big issues in our community and in our environment – through our events we’re trying to bring awareness of these organisations and their causes, to connect people to opportunities and important causes already out there. We’re a group of twenty-somethings living and working in Wellington, each who carries out their roles outside of full time work hours. The Social Change Collective has grown rapidly over the past 2 years, going from events of 25 people to over 100, and now we’ve reached the point that we need a regular pair of hands to help us help the Social Change Collective to continue to grow.
We’re a values driven organisation, so we’re looking for someone who supports what we do. We need an online-savvy person to help us manage our organisation’s ongoing administration, sorting the gmail, and managing our social media. You’ll work with our event organisers to ensure each event runs smoothly, and help to facilitate Actions following on from each event.

– highly organised
– reactive, quick to reply to emails and to connect people
– knows your way around the web (facebook, instagram, mailchimp, google apps (gmail, calendar, drive, forms, docs, etc)
– confident at working within existing administrative systems but also making positive changes or establishing new systems where you can see there’s a gap
– marketing and social media savvy, can maintain event traction and advertising on social media, and keep our website up to date
– you’re a uni student or already working part time

This is a fixed-term part time role from January – June 2020, approx 6 – 8 hours a week, paid hourly at living wage. It won’t require one whole day put aside, but it will require a couple of hours over a couple of days per week. This role is a working from home, flexible role, where we meet up every so often at a cafe to check in on how things are going.
