Casual Take 10 Driver

Job Description

Take 10 is a late-night “safe zone” for vulnerable youth in Wellington’s entertainment district.
For those who may need a break from drinking, need help, or just want a break, we provide a safe place to “take 10”.Visitors can hang out, have some water, charge their phone to stay in touch with friends and family, get medical help, refuge, and advice from our fully trained team leaders and volunteers.

Take 10 is currently operating on Saturday nights. Given the impact Take 10 has on safety in the city we are now in a position to begin operating on Friday nights.

The role is for the Friday night driver role. This person will prep the mobile unit, drive it to Courtenay Place and work with the team through the night before returning the mobile unit to it’s parking spot at the end of the night.

You will create a positive and enjoyable night out for people and support anyone who is feeling or acting vulnerable. Your night will vary from positive interactions to potentially difficult situations where you will be called upon to take appropriate actions and make decisions. You will help with the pack in and pack out of the mobile unit at the beginning and end of the night.

You must be confident driving a large vehicle and driving in the city in the evening. You wiill be required to work Friday nights from 9pm until 4am.

This role would suit someone who is looking for extra work and is a bit of a night owl.

The rate is $22 per hour.
