Voluntary Supply Chain Adviser – Correctional Enterprise

The NZ funded Vanuatu Correctional Services Partnership (VCSP) has been assisting the Vanuatu Department of Correctional Services to establish farms in Santo and Port Vila. Most of this support has been in the form of infrastructure including water tanks, road upgrades and fencing.
The Port Vila farm (Erangorango) is now operational and producing rations for detainees. The Santo farm (Valanka) will commence operations later in 2019 once the land is secured. The objectives of the farms are to provide useful vocational skills, healthy outdoor activity, and improve the diets of the detainees.
VCSP funding finishes at the end of 2019 and the aim is that the farms, alongside other Correctional enterprises, will generate revenue. In this assignment you will work alongside a team of six vocational instructors, to identify opportunities to develop the production capacity of the agriculture, joinery and catering enterprises and look to secure long term supply contracts. You will also work with the Corporate Services Manager, and Senior Finance Officer to develop appropriate policy settings for the operations to reduce the administrative burden currently affecting the department.
We are looking for a volunteer with:
-Experience developing business plans
-Experience developing contracts
-Proven communication and facilitation skills
-Proven negotiation and risk management skills
VSA volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance, and medical costs are provided. Travel arrangements are organised and funded by VSA along with other costs.
