Voluntary Social Change Collective Event Managers – Auckland
Are you passionate about solving environmental and social issues? Do you want to be part of a growing platform? Do you want to see Auckland thrive with connected communities?
We are looking for at least three people to join our Social Change Collective (SCC) Auckland Committee! SCC is a platform that connects people to environmental and social issues, to facilitate positive change. We run bi-monthly events that attract around 60 attendees. After three successful years in Wellington, SCC expanded into Auckland at the end of 2020 and we held our first two events; “Your Choices: 2020 Elections”, and “Our Mental Health”.
After each event, we encourage people to take action in their local community by promoting volunteering opportunities, governance positions and engagement platforms e.g. writing submissions or signing petitions.
We are looking for at least three Event Managers for 2021.
The Event Managers will be responsible for organising one to two events each year on a social or environmental issue of their choice. This usually involves around two months of preparation followed by one month of follow-through on the monitoring of actions. The Event Manager will have a buddy to assist.
By joining our Committee, you will be expected to:
– Attend Committee meetings (Approx. three per year. It would be great if the candidates are available to attend our annual hui in Wellington on Saturday 20 February);
– Attend and help out with Events (bi-monthly);
– Promote the work of the Social Change Collective;
– Engage with your crowds to expand our audiences; and
– Promote a tikanga Māori perspective through your event and/ or role.
