Download the full role description:
Are you passionate about making a difference for young people, and the future of our nation? Are you a project management ninja, and a great communicator?
The Future Leaders programme supports young people aged 17–25 in rural and provincial NZ to build their social entrepreneurship and leadership capability, and make a difference in their backyard.
The programme runs March–October across eight communities – Greymouth, Kāpiti, Palmerston North, Ōpōtiki, Kawerau, Whakatāne, Whangarei and the Far North.
In each community we employ and support a local Coach for 30–40 hrs/month to support the delivery of the programme, which includes delivering local coaching and mentoring, workshops and events. The number of participants in each community varies, usually between 20–50 young people.
As the Programme Manager you will be a critical part of the team at Inspiring Stories, working to design and deliver the Future leaders programme. This will include supporting our Coaches on the ground in each communities to deliver a high quality and impactful experience for young people involved. Develop and nurturing healthy relationships with young people, Coaches, funders and stakeholders to help meet the programme objectives on time and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference for young people in rural and provincial areas..
The 2018 programme is now half-way through, and all young people and Coaches recently attended Festival for the Future in Wellington – the experience was absolutely incredible. For the second half of the year, our Future Leaders and Coaches are mostly focused on developing and implementing their ideas to make a difference in their community, with the programme culminating with local ‘showcase’ events where participants share their journey and projects with the wider community.
