Contract Pay Equity Advocate .5FTE

NZEI Te Riu Roa –  Wellington City, Wellington

Job Description

We are changing the lives of women working in education through our pay equity campaign.

Do you have the skills we’re looking for to help with this?

Our union is one of the largest membership organisations in Aotearoa, with over 49000 people working in schools and early childhood centres. They bring their specialist skills to work every day to make a positive difference for children and the future.

We’re looking for someone with evidence of strong advocacy skills who can research, develop and negotiate claims that will win pay justice for women, with a particular focus on school support staff.

Along with a real desire to make a difference for women workers, you will need an understanding of the legal framework and agreed principles for pay equity and some knowledge of the education sector. The proven ability to work well in a fast-moving environment, alongside colleagues in a team setting is critical.

This 24 month fixed term position is based in our national office in Wellington.
