Legacy House North Shore is a newly established boarding home located in the heart of Takapuna, offering placements to year 9 – 13 male Maori youth attending Westlake Boys High School, under the leadership & guidance of Terrance Wallace, founder of The InZone Project, in alignment with the same core values and principles.
Our focus is on building leaders by providing our students with residential 24/7 wraparound support, whilst providing a supportive, culturally sensitive safe haven, access to better education, tutoring, mentoring, cultural leadership development, entrepreneurship, sports, life skills and spiritual development.
We have 10 students residing with us, along with our live-in Senior Boarding Manager, Matron and Administrator.
We are looking for two vibrant male role models to join our team, who have a passion for supporting young people, have strong leadership skills and are reliable and responsible.
Your key responsibilities would be to support and assist our Senior Boarding Manager and students with the following daily tasks:
Help prepare breakfast, lunch and dinners
Assist with afternoon tea and after school activities
Supervise duties and disciplines
Build relationships with the boys, be a big brother
Monitoring of their assigned wing
You will be required to assist on a rostered 25hrs per week, ranging between the hours of 6am to 9am (morning prep) and 3pm to 10pm (evening prep) on weekdays, plus 1 rostered weekend day per month. Rosters will be agreed upon in advance.
As this is an unpaid live-in role, your time will be compensated by means of free meals, accommodation, power, water, internet and use of utilities.
Full drivers licence is a must, and knowledge of Te Reo Maori would be an advantage, but not necessary.
