    Exciting changes are underway with the Northcote Development. We are about to see an increase in the number of quality homes and upgrade of infrastructure and amenities like parks, streets, walkways and the town centre. With passion and innovation your team will address the needs and priorities of the local board and local communities and provide a safe, professional and welcoming environment for customers and staff. 

    Among others, your day-to-day duties will be to:

    • Provide people leadership to develop our community-based staff for delivering excellence in visitor experiences, ensuring through your work that Te ao Māori is evident in all aspects of service design and delivery
    • Facilitate and grow staff, community and partner-led activity to deliver services including programmes and events that enhance identity, connect people and build a sense of belonging
    • Undertake facility management, manage the recruitment and induction of staff, as well as the mentoring, upskilling and coaching of existing staff

You operate from a sensed understanding of Mana Atua, Mana Tangata, Mana Whenua and hold a deep value of and proficiency for manaakitanga. Reciprocity and mutuality are strong features of your engagement style and can be seen in how you undertake ako and how you recognise and nourish le vā. Your kete are woven with the experiences of team management, facility management, stakeholder management and community development, complemented by strategic and administrative acumen.

    This permanent opportunity is working 40 hours per week on a variable schedule, currently based at the Northcote Library requiring flexibility to work across the Kaipātiki Local Board, which includes both Birkenhead and Glenfield Libraries.
