The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is the largest union in New Zealand, Aotearoa and is an innovative and dynamic organisation employing 190 staff throughout New Zealand. We have more than 80,000 members working in central and local government, health and community services. The focus of the PSA is to advance the rights and conditions of members through building collectively in the workplace. The PSA takes a strategic approach to building unionism.
The PSA is seeking two Legal Officers. We are recruiting for a full time and a part time role. These are permanent positions preferably based in our Wellington Office as part of an experienced and high performing team. One vacancy is a new position and the other is to replace an existing role.
We are looking for a person who is politically astute and supportive of the union movement, experienced in the application of employment law, committed to improving the quality of our members’ working lives and able to travel throughout New Zealand. The legal officer will have the ability to hold a current practising certificate.
We are looking for people who can work well with other members of the legal team and with other PSA staff.
The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi across our organisation and the work we do. Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Māori will therefore be an advantage and recognised through salary.
The salary range for this position is $67,036 to $113,835 along with generous terms and conditions.
