Full-Time Kaiwhakahaere- Manager (Operations & Funding)

Job Description

Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project are looking for a new Manager to take the organisation forward under a fresh strategic direction. We are looking for someone that can provide quality leadership and operations management for the organisation, deliver responsive programming and services for the community and enable a sustainable funding model to ensure that the organisation continues to create spaces where all people feel connected, valued and included.   • Planning and Delivery– Prepare and deliver an annual business plan and budget that helps deliver the strategic priorities of the organisation
  • Management– Manage our people, facilities and resources to maintain the day to day operations of the organisation and provide a high level of service to our clients and stakeholders
  • Finance– Oversee the financial management, administration and reporting of the organisation
  • Funding– Develop and implement an annual funding plan that maintains the existing income streams and secures new funding opportunities for projects and sustainability of the organisation
  • Marketing and Communications– Deliver a marketing and communications plan that builds awareness of the organisation and promotes services, activities and events to our clients and stakeholders
  • Programmes Delivery- Support staff with the planning and delivery of programmes in the houses and in the community with quality review, development and continual improvement
  • Relationships – Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Māori, Community, Auckland Council, Government and work with cross-sector partners to identify opportunities and deliver outcomes for our community.
  • Health and safety – Complies with responsibilities under the H&S in Employment Act and its Regulations and Amendments
  • Other duties – Is flexible and versatile in assisting and supporting the wider team and commitment towards individual development within the role.

REPORTING TO: Board Chairperson DIRECT REPORTS: 

  • Kaiārahi- Programme Leader
  • Kairuruku- Coordinator (Operations)
  • Kairuruku- Coordinator (Programme Delivery)
  • Support Staff – e.g. cleaners, contractors

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Previous experience in leading/management of not for profits
  • Commitment to the kaupapa of the organisation and carry out work with professionalism
  • Understand stakeholder expectations
  • Facilitate working together, encourage collaboration and joint ownership of community mahi
  • Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict and deal with challenging situations
  • Competent IT skills
  • Leading team in the face of rapidly changing business priorities
  • A current ‘clean’ driver’s license is strongly desired
  • Financial management experience

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday- Friday. Some weekends required. LOCATION: Birkdale House/Beach Haven House ANNUAL SALARY: $65,000- $70,000 baseline salary plus bonus scheme. KEY STAKEHOLDERS: Internal
