The Cancer Society Auckland Northland (CSAN) has a vacancy for an Individual Giving Manager working as part of our Fundraising team, reporting to the Fundraising Manager, and supervising the Direct Marketing Officer. This is a key role, managing and overseeing all aspects of the Individual Giving portfolio including; direct mail, regular giving, and driving a pipeline to major gift and bequest prospects.

In addition, this role is expected to grow the existing donor acquisition, conversion, retention and upgrade strategies and secure and manage necessary external supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Create and implement an annual programme of activity to raise funds from individual donors in support of CSAN services
Develop a Stewardship Plan that seeks to engage and retain donors and increase giving over time
Increases net income via direct mail, donor conversion activity and donor retention strategies
Effectively supervise the DM Officer to ensure an annual programme of direct mail activity to raise funds is managed effectively.
Introduces well researched and robust new ideas, methods, programmes and campaigns, designed to increase the number of active donors, increase net income over time and improve efficiency across the portfolio
Implements effective monthly reporting that tracks all relevant targets and trends in the Donor Giving Programmes
Uses a variety of communications and engagement strategies to raise profile and understanding of our work across various communities

To be effective in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

A minimum of four years fundraising experience with Direct Mail and Donor Communications is essential.
Be able to create and implement compelling campaigns and appeals
Knowledge and experience in donor management software is required.
Be able to think critically and plan effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in Raisers Edge software, or similar programme
Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Publisher
Effective time management and project management skills; able to multi-task
Proven ability to think strategically, but also master operational plans
Ability to achieve deadlines a must
