Full-Time Head of Foundation – parental leave cover
Te Rourou, Vodafone Aotearoa Foundation is the charitable arm of Vodafone New Zealand. Established in 2002, we invest in organisations, programmes and ideas that create better outcomes for young people. We have a vision of an equitable Aotearoa, where all rangatahi have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. We want all young people to be able to make decisions about their future and live lives they value – we don’t want them to be locked out of opportunity by systems and experiences beyond their control.
Our goal is to halve the number of young people experiencing exclusion and disadvantage in New Zealand by 2027. We are focused on four streams of change – place-based work in Murihiku Southland, funding long-term systems change, supporting better understanding through the OHI Data Navigator, and by partnering with Vodafone to increase digital equity and inclusion.
The Head of Foundation is tasked with implementing the organisational strategy, supporting the team to deliver on goals, maintaining relationships, working in partnership with Vodafone and meeting the overall operational needs of the Foundation.
Responsible to the Board of the Vodafone Foundation and the Legal, Regulatory and Sustainability Director of Vodafone, you will be working with a small team based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington and Waihopai Invercargill. This is a full-time role that requires regular travel. Applicants are welcome from a range of locations, with a preference for Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington or Tamaki Makaurau Auckland. This is a contract role of up to 12 months with a salary range of $130,000 – $150,000 depending on experience.
The Foundation has a clear roadmap in place and a set of desired outcomes – we are looking for someone who can take that roadmap and bring it to life. The successful applicant will be focused on six key areas: operationalising foundation strategy, supporting the team and board, partnering with Vodafone New Zealand, grow and maintaining relationships, leading philanthropic work and communications.
We’re looking for candidates with a commitment to the kaupapa of Te Rourou, Vodafone Aotearoa Foundation, leadership and people management experience, understanding and experience in the philanthropy or community sector, pragmatism and focus, great communication skills, an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of systems change.
