Part-Time General Manger
Dignity exists to provide free period products to all people without access. We believe no one should miss out on opportunities simply because they have their period.
We are an impact business. Dignity provides free period products through our two impact initiatives. ‘Buy-one, Give-one’ partnerships for business and Gifting initiatives for the benefit of kiwi workplaces, youth and community groups.
Dignity played a leading role in the government’s commitment to provide free period products in all schools and kura from 2021. Dignity has a large voice and we want someone who can continue to advocate for our kaupapa to deliver period equity.
Our customers include organisations such as ANZ, Cigna, Xero and PwC. By partnering with us, these companies support their employees, and in turn we give products to over 200 schools, youth and community groups across Aotearoa.
We have had a huge growth in businesses supporting our Buy-one, Give-one initiatives over the last 6 years and we need someone who will lead Dignity to the next phase of growth.
You will have day to day responsibility for the business and implementing the future direction of the social enterprise. You will have the full support of the founders and Advisory Board, but this is an opportunity for you to implement your experience, knowledge and business abilities.
There are two part time employees with responsibility for logistics and marketing. Our ordering, distribution and internal processes are robust and scalable, despite this you may occasionally have to roll up your sleeves and pack a few boxes.
Ideally you will be able to focus your time on scaling the impact that we make for employers, employees, schools and people experiencing period poverty. You will work to deepen Dignity’s relationship with our partners to better understand the needs of people experiencing period poverty and how Dignity can best help meet this need and grow our Impact.
You will lead and drive Dignity’s Impact Initiative to advocate for the provision of free period products to all people without access in Aotearoa.
A day in the life: Running a social enterprise
You will be in charge of running the day to day business of Dignity. One day you might be talking to one of our corporate partners to then review a new Dignity customer’s employee feedback on the Dignity initiative. The role will be varied, fast paced and highly rewarding. This is your chance to work on a truly meaningful initiative creating change in New Zealand.

You will have or keen to understand:
- Initiative and ability to work on your own and with others
- Empathy for and an understanding of the period poverty issue
- Management experience and demonstrated ability to grow a business
- Impeccable communication skills
- A professional, credible, confident and constructive manner and approach
- Familiar with G-suite tools
- Adaptable and keen to use your own ideas
- Commitment and understanding our commitments to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
For the right candidate we are happy to negotiate working hours as the annual salary we have available for this position is $80,000 FTE negotiable plus incentives for achieving growth including equity participation.
