The Auckland City Mission has been one of Auckland’s most prominent social services agencies for over 100 years. Working in partnership with others, it holds fast to its mission “Together we stand with those in desperate need. We provide immediate relief and pathways to enable long term wellbeing.”
The GM Health & Social Services leads a skilled, experienced team developing and implementing a wide range of clinical and service programmes across the Mission. This role is focused on advancing the organisations priorities in healthcare, food security and housing including the development of Mission HomeGround on Hobson Street.
The leadership responsibilities require being attuned to the Mission’s vision, culture and a “holding” (kaitiaki) of this vision. It is the responsibility of all senior leaders to live the vision of the organisation with integrity – influencing, inspiring and motivating others, not just with words but with actions.
As the successful candidate you will be a values-centred leader with a significant track record in social service delivery. You will be equally at ease connecting with the Mission’s clients as you are presenting to potential funders and key stakeholders. Well-connected with diverse communities you are able to demonstrate an appreciation of Te Ao Māori and driven to work in partnership. Your deeply held commitment to social justice and equity underpins all that you do.
