Contract Engagement Coordinators (2 positions both 20 hours per week)
Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society is a community-led group with a small team of restoration specialists complemented by an engine room of fantastic volunteers.
We have a wealth of important jobs to tackle and are looking for enthusiastic people to fill two half-time positions to help save our beautiful environment:
1) Volunteer Coordinator (20 hours per week) to help us engage our local community in actions to restore Kaipātiki’s native biodiversity and ecology.
In this role, you’ll support existing volunteers and groups, while also raising our profile and recruiting new volunteers.
You’ll use your excellent networking and planning skills to build their enthusiasm and effectiveness and to create amazing collaborative events and programmes in our community.
2) Kauri Dieback Campaign Coordinator (20 hours per week) to help us engage our local community in actions to contain kauri dieback in Kaipātiki.
In this role, you’ll develop good working relationships with key players and volunteers across our community and in Council.
You’ll work with these networks to create compelling programmes and activities that raise public awareness of kauri and kauri dieback disease and help prevent its spread
FOR BOTH ROLES our ideal candidates would demonstrate skills and experience in:
Community engagement and team building:
A proactive and successful communicator who can network well with a wide range of individuals and groups in our community and can engage and enable people to achieve great outcomes
A people person who can lead a range of programmes and groups to ensure project and community outcomes are delivered and celebrated while building relationships and managing priorities and challenges.
Project and administrative work:
Positive, proactive ability to work well with other team members, managers, volunteers and community leaders
Demonstrated planning skills with a collaborative approach to project management that ensures outcomes are delivered on time and within budget with a high level of team satisfaction.
Capable and confident in using computer applications.
Excellent communication skills with individuals, groups and across social media and other channels.
Passionate about NZ native plants and wildlife and protecting them from pests and biosecurity risks.
