Voluntary Digital Marketing Volunteer
We are looking for a digital marketing volunteer to plan, research, analyse, identify and implement engaging digital content. You will use your creative flair and storytelling talents to develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract people and promote our services and events.
Your central goal is to help grow our brand’s influence locally while also increasing brand loyalty and awareness, by growing a strong online presence for Waipuna Hospice, particularly on social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram and other digital platforms, such as Google My Business pages.
You will be able to learn how to and use the latest digital marketing technologies and methods to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing activities.

Digital Marketing Assistant Responsibilities
Competitor Analysis, benchmark and regularly track and gather insights into competitors’ strategies
Analysis of performance by developing and monitoring KPIs, prepare accurate reports measuring performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
Research audience preferences, discover current trends, receive customer feedback and generate ideas to increase customer engagement
Establish our web presence and work to improve our brand presence
Liaise with Marketing, Retail, Volunteer, HR, Clinical and Family Support teams
Curate stimulating posts on a regular basis through engaging text, imagery and video content which is in-line with organisational goals, best practice, brand values, look and feel to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around events, new products, courses, collections, awareness and community engagement
Edit, proofread and improve content
Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
Update and manage GMB pages with imagery and content as well as responding to reviews and comments
Identify and stay up-to-date with digital media technologies and latest trends
Suggest strategies and methods for improvement
Overall administration and customer service of digital channels
Digital Marketing Assistant Requirements
Interest in digital marketing and communications and working towards a qualification and career in marketing and or communications
Digital capability, ability to learn diverse platforms and software programmes
Creative with excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
Ability to learn, research skills and commercial awareness
Good understanding of office management and marketing principles
Sense of ownership and pride in performance and impact on company’s success
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Good time management and organised with a customer-orientate approach
Additional experience in web design and website analytics is a plus
High School education; Studying towards BSc in Marketing, Business or relevant field (desired but not essential)
Hours: 10 hours a week – Distributed evenly, with 5 hours in located in the office and 5 hours working remotely.
Location: Marketing and Fundraising department, Waipuna Hospice – 43 Te Puna Station Road, Tauranga.
