Micro-volunteer Funding and Grants Assistant

The Microvolunteering Collective  Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu/Wanganui, Wellington, Nelson/Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland

Job Description

The Microvolunteering Collective is a community group dedicated to breaking down the barriers to traditional volunteering, and enabling anyone – regardless of their age, gender, background, or experience, to make a meaningful difference in their community, through bite-sized volunteer tasks, known as ‘microvolunteering’.

With the aim of using micro-moments to create macro-change, we organise events and activities that bring people together, and empower them to use their strengths, skills and creativity as a tool for good (and in doing so, enhance personal and collective wellbeing).

Such events and activities include hand-making postcards and filling them with messages of love for lonely residents in local rest homes, and repurposing old clothing into toys for dogs and cats in the SPCA, for example.

Since our establishment in February 2019, we have brought together almost 1, 000 microvolunteers, who have contributed 1, 400 hours of their time towards various community causes.

Now, we’re on a mission to turn microvolunteering into a nationwide movement.

And that’s where you come in!

We have lots of exciting plans for the future, and will be seeking funding opportunities to help bring these to life.

We’re currently looking for someone who can help us identify funding opportunities, file impactful applications, and maintain funding obligations.

This is a flexible and rewarding volunteering opportunity that will allow you to play a key role in New Zealand’s microvolunteering movement.

Ideally, you’ll:

– be passionate about volunteering, your local community, and change-making

– be a creative thinker, willing to bring a fresh perspective to all that you do

– have strong copywriting abilities, to craft impactful funding obligations

– have some experience with grant and funding applications

Email Chantelle at [email protected] outlining why you’re a good fit for the role.
