Te Aroha Noa Community Services is an integrated multi-disciplinary family and community development agency. It provides an integrated range of services and activities designed to unleash the full potential of children, youth, individuals, families/whānau and whole communities. The Chief Executive position is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation that is responsive to all these elements and to the God/Atua infused life underpinning them. Te Aroha Noa Community Services is based in the heart of the rich and culturally diverse lower-socio economic community of Highbury. While it provides services to the whole of Palmerston North and to the surrounding region it is particularly committed to enhancing the growth of the Western suburb communities of Palmerston North.
As the Chief Executive, you will be challenged to innovatively lead and implement strategic and operational excellence through programmes, services and projects which have been developed to ensure better life outcomes for all engaged with these activities. Because you are able to lead people, you will look at the challenges in a way that means you get to use your experience to its fullest potential. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will lead strategies and action plans to deliver outcomes to the needs defined by the local community.
Being no stranger to senior management and leadership, and already possess extensive practice leadership experience, you will be delighted at the excellent team committed to assisting you in leading the way. We envisage you being a leader of leaders. Your knowledge and ability to coach and lead will enable your team to perform efficiently and execute operational plans effectively. Your experience in high level contract and project management will be invaluable to assisting the Team Leaders. You will provide strategic and operational direction to your team as well as be responsible in reporting to the Board your team’s achievements and projects.
Because you are both open minded and open to possibilities you will generate various options with well researched and considered theory and practical applications that enhance life outcomes. Your sound financial understanding and confidence in securing government, business and philanthropic funding will put you in good stead to oversee services within budget and to deliver contractual requirements.
Your outstanding stakeholder partnership, relational and communication skills will enable you to work collaboratively with all the key stakeholders that Te Aroha Noa is engaged with. Developing relationships with key decision makers will be instrumental to success in this role and you must be articulate, confident, competent and creative in enabling this. You will bring to the table a strong understanding of the social sector environment and you will be no stranger to working within a culturally diverse community.
Underpinning all of these skills, you will be a servant hearted leader who has a real heart for social justice and acts with humility, integrity, trustworthiness and compassion. You will be a person who sees the ‘more’ of people and situations, and inspires people to look beyond the ordinary to the extraordinary.
This is a full time, dynamic and challenging role that requires a leader who is able to understand what is required to deliver outstanding life enhancing outcomes for our community.
