Full-Time Campaign/Marketing Coordinator – National Tobacco Control Advocacy

Job Description

Hāpai Te Hauora is a trusted voice in the public health sector, first and foremost acting in the best interest of health promotion and disease prevention for Maōri.  Our Tobacco Control Advocacy Service is driven to achieve the goal of a Smokefree Aotearoa for 2025. To help achieve this goal, our close-knit Advocacy team is looking for a Campaign Coordinator to work collectively, bringing new energy and innovative ideas into the space to identify, deliver and promote effective public health and advocacy campaigns to:

  • Reduce smoking initiation
  • Increase quitting
  • Reduce the social, economic and health harms of tobacco 
  • Reduce inequalities

Tē Tunga | The Role

  • You will be the center of the rōpū’s campaigning activities
  • Support the development, planning and implementation of the campaigns
  • Coordinate campaign events to raise public awareness
  • Lead media campaigns
  • Engagement with key stakeholders, community groups & leaders
  • Inform, inspire, excite, engage, uplift, motivate and inform

Nōu te Rourou | What you bring

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification preferred
  • Three year’s previous experience in a similar role
  • Superb communication, able to engage with a range of key stakeholders
  • Public health background
  • Savvy with campaigning and community-led call to action 
  • Competence in Te Reo me ōna Tikanga is required
