New Year, New Goal: find a new job
Does your New Year’s resolution include operation find a new job? If so, it’s time to get yourself ready for the combat ahead. Here are our top tips to get you started:
#1. Spruce up your resume
Just like you might do a spring clean to get your house in order for the new year, or be giving the outside of our house a new layer of paint over summer, it's time to dust off your CV, primer it, check for typos and declutter the jargon. Throw away the old jobs that are not needed anymore (like the time you were a barista back in 2000). Then, shine that CV up with a new lick of ink and polish. Make sure you add in the latest highlights to make it shine, and finally, decorate. Read more tips for your CV spruce up here:

#3. Get talking
If you’ve made the decision that change is on the table, let your army of friends and family know. These allies know you and your skills best. If they don't know you are looking, they won't know to share the amazing opportunities that they start hearing about in the new year.
You might also want to scheme up some ways to increase your network in the year ahead to connect with people in the industry you work in (or want to work in!) to find out about current opportunities and to create contacts for future opportunities. This might be identifying a few events, conferences or talks that it might be useful to get your face at in the coming months.
