Working at charities, I was struck by how hard it was to recruit people with the combination of both the skills AND the passion for the organisation’s mission.
On the other hand as a job searcher, I also found it overwhelming trawling through the main job boards trying to find employers whose ethics and values reflected my own.
After encountering countless friends and associates who shared these frustrations, I realised that there was a real and urgent need.
So on a mission I went: to design an ethical jobs board for New Zealand. In 2012, after many late nights and weekends, Do Good Jobs was launched. My purpose: to connect good employers with great people who share their vision and to support purpose-led people to thrive so that they can create change faster and with ease.
As Do Good Jobs has grown we’ve built a solid community of talented and inspired people, and developed an ecosystem of good. I hope you’ll join me on this good journey.
