Part-Time Violence Prevention Coordinator
Student Services Division
Do you have experience developing community-based programmes directed at preventing sexual and intimate partner violence and harassment? If so, the University of Waikato is looking for you to start in the new year.
Following recent changes in our Student Health Centre we have a new Violence Prevention Coordinator role to form part of the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing programmes to prevent sexual, gender-based and intimate partner violence and harassment. You will work across the University campuses and external community services to influence campus culture and develop proactive initiatives to address violence.
You will be expected to act as a resource for University staff members to develop policies and procedures to prevent and respond to violence and harassment.
Along with significant experience in the areas of sexual and family violence prevention and support, you will be familiar with current research and best practice in providing support to violence survivors. Experience developing and implementing prevention and educational programmes targeting young adults along with an ability to be sensitive to the needs of a wide range of students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures will be an advantage. A Bachelor of Social Work or a related field is essential.
Preferably you will have experience with diverse populations such as international students and members of the LGBTQIA community.
This role should appeal if you are ready to utilise your expertise where it is highly valued. Students can be in a vulnerable position, and you will be ensuring that their health and wellbeing are well-supported so they can focus on their education and build their futures.
Salary will be in the range of $69,802 to $80,501 per year, pro rata, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
This position is part-time 32 hours per week.
