PTSD Help NZ is currently in the process of becoming a charitable organisation. We wish to advocate for systemic change so that survivors of trauma and people living with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in New Zealand have access to treatment, resources and services to improve their well-being and quality of life. The work of PTSD Help NZ aims to help those suffering from PTSD by offering support and opportunities to learn management tools/therapies that may be helpful for living with this condition.
This work is particularly important due to the lack of funding provided by the government for the PTSD Community. A significant number of people diagnosed with this condition fall outside the parameters of coverage offered by ACC, leaving many without much hope of getting the help they require.
We are a small organisation but aim to make a BIG impact on the lives of those living with PTSD.
PTSD Help NZ is looking for a Treasurer wiz for our Board. We are actively seeking someone with an accounting/finance background or significant experience as a Treasurer. This volunteer role will assist with the processing of monthly invoices, banking reconciliations, GST returns and preparation of quarterly financial reports.
This role is part-time, approximately 5 hours per month would be required. Board meetings are held quarterly from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and can be attended via Skype.
