This is an exciting opportunity to join the RainbowYOUTH whānau as a part time staff member for 12 months. You will be working alongside the leadership of the organisation to guide RainbowYOUTH toward becoming a bicultural organisation. Following a scoping report in 2018 around RainbowYOUTH’s cultural responsiveness and relevance to takatāpui and Māori communities, leadership and takatāpui staff and Board members have created an action plan to implement the recommendations of this report. We are seeking a kaihautū to help us implement the medium and long term goals from the action plan. The kaihautū will be supported and assisted by the staff and Board. We are seeking the expertise and guidance of the kaihautū, but they will have the full organisation to tautoko them in this mahi. All of the project documentation will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to rework the action plan as they see necessary.
Above all else, we’re looking for someone who believes in this kaupapa and wants to come on this journey with us. Having a knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori would be really useful, as would any involvement within marae/hapū/iwi/urban Māori organisations. Experience doing similar work in community organisations would be beneficial, but is not necessary.
The hours and location for this role can be flexible depending on the schedule of the kaihautū.
