Job Description

Te Heke Mai is an coaching programme delivered through an app, with a real life coach. As a coach you will build working relationships, solve problems, and support the participants of the Te Heke Mai programme, while they learn to navigate through their current journey.

The job is challenging and rewarding but requires that you clearly understand your role and responsibilities and can maintain professional boundaries while developing effecting relationships.

As a Te Heke Mai coach, you will coach and empower participants to achieve success and manage challenges that arise at work, training and in their personal lives. You will need a good understanding of goal based coaching programmes and behaviour change models of support. You will help connect them to services, organisations and people in their local community who can also support them to be successful in their journey towards sustainable employment.

You will utilise a combination of skills (comprehensive relationship building and investigation, empathy, initiative, and critical thinking) to help people remain focussed on their goals through dedicated and tailored interaction. This relationship will be carried out through an intuitive mobile and web-based app and phone-based call support.

A background in community, social services or health is preferred. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of social services and a strong understanding of Maori and Pasifika people and their journey in to work would be advantageous.
