Voluntary Steering Committee Member
New Zealand Alternative is looking for a new steering committee member.
The role of the steering committee is to provide strategic guidance to and oversight of the organisation and to work with our two Co-Directors, Thomas Nash and Evelyn Marsters, who manage the day to day operations. Over the next 18 months NZA will organise community workshops to open up conversations about Aotearoa New Zealand and the world and help us develop strong relationships, in particular with Māori, Pasifika, migrant and youth communities throughout New Zealand. We are looking for someone to join our team that can help guide this important mahi.
Specific skills and experience we are looking for:
*People who identify as tangata whenua
*People with connections into, and/or understanding of, te ao Māori
*People with experience in education, facilitation or running community workshops
*People with experience in campaigning, community organising or advocacy
You would join our existing steering committee members Nina Hall, Max Harris, Thomas Nash and Evelyn Marsters for a 90min Skype call once a month to discuss and decide the strategic direction and resource allocation of NZA. You will also be asked to contribute to email discussions on an ad hoc basis as and when opportunities arise to advance the mission of NZA.
