Full-Time Software teacher—no teaching experience necessary
We are looking for a teacher to join us on our Auckland Campus—no prior teaching experience is required.
The person we’re looking for will know their Node.js from their Express, React and Redux. But they’ll also have a passion for conveying knowledge, love productive learning environments and creating a positive impact on the world.
We run an immersive web development training program for aspiring web developers and career changers. Our focus is on helping individuals to develop the full range of skills necessary to make a difference in today’s (and tomorrow’s) world. Among these skills, the most important is learning how to learn.
Teaching at EDA is as much about people as it is about technology. Our students are entering into an industry that is new and often intimidating to them. This intimidation and “imposter syndrome” can be a hindrance to their learning. Our teachers play an influential role in the perceptions they have about their progress and direction. It’s important the teacher be empathetic and compassionate as well as a knowledgeable guide.
We take a diverse cohort of students and grow them as individuals, without standardising and conforming them into a generic professional mould. Students who have studied with us often claim this was one of the most life changing events they had experienced.
If you think you have the right balance of people and software development skills, we would love to explore the possibility of helping each other meet our goals.
We offer a supportive work environment, a dedicated team, a social kaupapa, and a come-as-you-are approach.
