Part-Time Social Worker

Family Works is one of the largest NGOs providing integrated social services for the whole community. We provide a range of services to families and communities including social work, counselling, mediation, mentoring and parenting support.

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our team based in South Wairarapa. A key part of the role will be to support the delivery of our Safety Programs for adults and children who have experienced Family Violence. We can offer a great training package and professional support within a diverse team dedicated to promoting children’s wellbeing.

The successful applicant will have:

Excellent local community links and knowledge
Ability to work competently and meet cultural needs, for example having an understanding of tikanga Maori
Social work Registration or actively working towards this.
Flexible safe and creative approaches in supporting vulnerable children and whanau.
Sound knowledge and experience of working with family violence and child protection.
Strong organisational skills and IT competence
Experience of working directly with children and young people

It is important that you are someone who aligns to the mission and values of the organisation.

This is a part time 24hour/week permanent position based primarily in South Wairarapa.
