Full-Time Resource Coordinator

Skylight is a national not-for-profit trust that supports children, young people, and whānau to navigate through tough times by building resilient individuals and communities. Skylight’s services and programmes are built with trauma informed practice and a focus on building resilience.   Skylight delivers services directly to children, young people and whānau. Skylight also builds the capability of communities in the wider sector through training and professional development. (

The Trust is looking for someone to co-ordinate the Skylight Resource Centre and manage the initial requests for support from our service users. The successful candidate will bring warmth, professionalism and an ability to identify solutions and connect people with the wide range of resources at their fingertips. An excellent recall for information, and the ability to navigate and maintain a large specialised database is essential.

Supported by the Clinical Services Team Leader, they will work within a collaborative team environment to deliver high quality, relevant support in a timely manner.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:
Demonstrable experience and skills in the areas of counselling, social work, or teaching
Outstanding communication skills in English, both spoken and written, supplemented by demonstrated creative skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a supportive role, preferably with children, young people and their families/ whānau.
A demonstrated working knowledge of the impact of change, loss, trauma and grief on children, teens and adults
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative relationships
Highly competent computer and keyboard skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong productive internal and external relationships
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent recollection of information coupled with the ability to apply this knowledge to the case in hand
Ability to empathise with people from all walks of life, and able to read between the lines
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
