Contract Research Assistant
Eight hour a week role for four months
Philanthropy New Zealand is the peak body representing and supporting philanthropy and grantmaking in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is growing effective giving. As the hub of philanthropy in New Zealand, we facilitate collaboration and offer practical guidance for anyone with an interest in giving to make the world a better place.
As part of a new policy and research function, we are looking for an energetic and flexible research assistant for 8 hours per week. This is an initial four month contract to support the work of our Policy & Research Manager and developing policy and research programme. Projects reflect our priorities around inspiring better and more giving and building a stronger sector. Main tasks will include:
• environmental scanning for our communications products and to inform engagement
• assisting with research project scoping and preparation for commissioning
• summarising government policy and legislative developments
This role will suit a contractor with analytical and research skills which have been demonstrated through degree courses and/or previous work experience. We are also looking for a strong communicator who can write well and provide regular verbal feedback.
In the current environment, a self-starter who can work mainly remotely, manage their time and who needs minimal supervision is a must. As a contractor you will also need to provide your own equipment and have access word and excel packages.
The work pattern will likely involve hours spread over Monday to Thursday and availability for virtual and occasionally face to face meetings some mornings.
We can offer $25 per hour for this role.
