Part-Time Regional Coordinator (BoP & Hauraki)

Job Description

Hours: 20 hours per week, permanent part time role
Location: Tauranga RainbowYOUTH drop-in centre, with travel around the wider Bay of Plenty & Hauraki region
Start Date: Mid January (Start date flexible within this)
Applications close: 10pm, Wednesday 12th December

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RainbowYOUTH whānau as a part time staff member, and work alongside queer, gender diverse and intersex young people in the Bay of Plenty and Hauraki region. We’re looking for someone who loves working with people, is good at building relationships, and wants to learn and grow with us! We will provide full training for this role, and our Support Manager will work closely with you as you are learning the ropes. There could also be an opportunity to complete your NZQA Level 3 or Level 4 Youth Work certificate through this role, if that’s of interest to you.

Key skills

– Previous experience or understanding of youth support work (including social work or other care work)
– Awareness of the needs of gender diverse, queer and intersex communities
– Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori
– Good written and verbal communication skills
– Able to self-manage and show initiative in your work
– Strong time management and self-motivation
– Full driver’s licence is preferred
