Full-Time QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER
This is an opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join the dynamic team at CARE Waitakere Trust.

CARE Waitakere Trust provides wrap-around services to people of all ages in Te Atatu and the Wider West Auckland community, including Counselling, Budgeting, Family Support (including Social Work), Foodbank, and Group Work.
We are looking for an experienced Community Social Worker to join our team. The job involves working alongside individuals and families, ensuring they have access to all the supports they need for successful outcomes in their lives and the lives of their children. The ideal person will have a current NZ Registration as a Social Worker and experience in working with people who have experienced trauma, particularly sexual abuse. The position will involve working with individuals and families identified through our other services or from wider community collaborative services (including the Police) to develop effective support structures. The position will also involve managing and/or removing any social barriers to clients’ ability to engage in counselling under the ACC sensitive claims process.
The successful applicant will have:
A social work qualification and current registration
The ability to work with individuals, families or whanau, communities and groups from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
The ability to respond with empathy and compassion when walking alongside people who are struggling with life’s challenges
Experience in working with those who have experienced abuse and trauma
Experience in working with families
The ability to work in a bi-cultural context and apply the Treaty of Waitangi to practice
The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong administration and documentation skills
Competent computer skills
A strength of character that displays patience, tenacity and insight
