Full-Time Project Manager, Fixed Term 2 Years

Platform Trust –  Wellington City, Wellington

Job Description

Are you ready to help transform the mental health and addictions system of New Zealand? This is a role where you can be instrumental in making a real difference in ensuring strong community-based supports are there for people with mental health and addictions issues.

OUR ORGANISATION
Platform Trust supports a network of community organisations that provide support to thousands of people whose lives are directly impacted by mental health and addictions, their whānau and the communities where they live. Platform’s role is to strengthen the non-government organisation (NGO) sector. We do this by collaborating and providing a contact point for nationwide feedback on issues relating to mental health and addiction community organisations.

THE ROLE
Platform are looking for an extraordinary and enthusiastic Project Manager to take a lead in working with others to co-design and implement one of our most exciting programmes to date.

He Ara Oranga – Report of the Government Inquiry into Mental health and Addiction (2018) and its supporting documents provide an extensive stocktake of the services, issues and opportunities that exist in the current mental health and addictions (MH&A) system. He Ara Oranga has a strong emphasis on wellbeing, consumer and whānau participation and strengthening the NGO sector.

Our work will be based on the recommendations of He Ara Oranga that the Platform network is well placed to deliver or lead collaboration around, and that our membership has identified as important. We have identified three goals:
Goal 1: Leading change – actively contribute to post-Inquiry system transformation
Goal 2: We are in this together – foster strategic partnerships and alliances
Goal 3: A strong and capable sector – support community MH&A providers to thrive

For this to happen, we need to find someone to join our team who has passion, curiosity, an ability to engage with others to build strong connections and working relationships. We work across a variety of community organisations, government agencies and other entities.

You will have the opportunity to work with the innovative and passionate members of our organisation who want to improve the services they deliver by exploring approaches such as co-design.

If this sounds like you and you would like to know more, download the role description here or contact Laura Dempsey on 021 029 37303.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
