Women in Business Development Inc (WIBDI) is a donor-funded non-governmental organisation with a long-term commitment to creating sustainable business opportunities for families living in rural Samoa. It is seeking to become a self-sufficient enterprise dedicated to supporting the socioeconomic development of small farming families and communities. A key part of striving for this self-sufficiency is to develop production processes in its recently opened factory.
In this role you will work alongside production department staff to provide training on safe and clean production processes. You will also work directly with farmers and small business owners, in their communities, to build their production knowledge and capabilities, enabling them to implement changes to enhance their businesses.
Although this assignment with be based in the WIBDI main office in Nu’u, a 25-minute drive from Apia, it’s a hands-on role with plenty of opportunities to out of the office and get involved with field work.
– Relevant qualification e.g. degree in food science/food technology with HACCP experience
– Food and export industry experience, with a particular focus on organic products
– Practical skills in production and use of production machinery
– Training and mentoring skills
– Basic financial and/or budget management skills
– Experience working with small businesses and/or businesses with limited resources
This is a 1-year assignment based in Samoa

Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.
