Full-Time Patient Transfer Officer – Wairarapa region

Job Description

  • Provide the highest possible standard of non-emergency patient care and transportation
  • Permanent and part time roles available in Wairarapa region with training and career progression opportunities
  • Paying base hourly rate of $25.87 plus Kiwisaver with ability to increase after training completed

Critical support role responsible for non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, and specialised patient transfers in the Wairarapa region.

We are currently looking for full time and part time Patient Transfer Officers (PTO’s) to provide these services in our Wairarapa region. Based out of Masterton station as Patient Transfer Officer you will be working on a shift roster.  The shifts are 12 hours rostered and rotating over all 7 days of the week. The shift times will start between 6am to 11am. The part time arrangements will be advised as we work through the selection process and will include weekend days.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Providing the highest possible standard of patient care and transportation for non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, outpatient appointments and specialised patient transfers
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Accurately completing documentation
  • Ensure vehicles are fully equipped and ready to use and maintaining appropriate administration

Who we are looking for

Our successful applicants will be flexible with their work routine, and meet the following criteria:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Ability to work with and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Current full clean drivers’ licence (for at least 3 years) with defensive driving course (within last 2 years).
  • Note If you haven’t obtained your First Aid and Defensive Driving course certificate, you must have obtained these before employment starts (if successful).
  • Clean criminal record
  • Strong and fit, as role includes manual handling.
