Job Description

Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance, and medical costs are provided. Travel arrangements are organised and funded by VSA along with other costs.

United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) works in over 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child. It has spent 70 years working to improve the lives of children and their families.

In this assignment you will support UNICEF’s Child Protection Programme to plan and evaluate their work programme, manage information effectively, and help share stories about UNICEF’s work with others. You will focus on helping the child protection team to improve their planning, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy and communication.

Based in Fiji, and working across a number of Pacific countries and territories, you will contribute to children’s education, health and well-being throughout the Pacific.

We are looking for a volunteer with:

– University degree (bachelor’s or master’s degree) in Social Sciences, Sociology, Development, Economics, Statistics or another relevant discipline
– Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research
– Previous professional experience in planning, monitoring and evaluation, information and knowledge management
– Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
– Experience in or ability to compile, process and analyse data
– Computer skills including ability to process and compile data, produce different types of charts and tables and use dropbox and cloud.
– Attention to detail

This is a two-year assignment based in Fiji.

Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.
