Cogo’s goal is to help consumers align the money they spend with their environmental and social values. We believe this provides consumers with a voice by allowing them to vote with their wallet, and helping businesses that are taking positive environmental and ethical actions to maximise the ROI of these initiatives. 

Over the last 12 months we have developed and launched a world changing carbon footprint calculator, allowing our users to see the carbon impact of their purchase in real-time, by plugging into their banking transaction data via the UK’s Open Banking Standards. This has been launched in Beta in the UK, and New Zealand. 

Cogo is on a high growth trajectory. In New Zealand and the UK we are partnering with major high street banks and retailers bringing a massive growth in our user base through our consumer app and the development of an API product. We are continuing to develop our core features, alongside some of the world’s leading experts, including our carbon footprint calculator, behavioral nudge framework, and ethical recommendation engine. 


The main responsibility of this role is to establish and solidify our positioning as a brand leader in the tech sustainability space alongside the partners we work with, while driving leads for the sales team. This role will focus on the marketing and communications strategy to position Cogo as a world-leader in sustainability data solutions and offerings across the customer and business sectors. The role will lead the marketing and communications strategy and execution across a specific region/countries, aligning this to the overall global marketing and communications strategy. It will work closely with internal stakeholders such as marketing and communications teams in other global markets, PR managers, sales, impact and insights. 

The responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Implementing Cogo’s communication and marketing strategy and manage delivery of these strategies across multiple markets to establish Cogo as a brand leader in our sector, support partner communications to their customers and stakeholders and drive leads for Cogo
  • Solidify our market leader positioning in regional specific sectors via strategic comms 
  • Work closely with Head of Marketing to deliver on regional and global strategies and targets.
  • Work closely with PR lead and Senior Designer to deliver strategically planned content across the APAC region as well as collaborating with other regions to ensure global alignment
  • Manage Cogo’s marketing and communications regionally from planning to activation with partners and agencies as required. Working with internal and external partners to achieve overall agreed on strategies. Including but not limited to campaign roll-out and management, writing and approval process, PR approval, strategic planning, owned and not owned marketing and communication approval, event communication, awards entries
  • Compile reports on a regular basis on success rate of campaigns and strategy
  • Seek opportunities and develop strategic comms & marketing plans to showcase Cogo products/services and offerings and/or product releases. Drive and support PR & design content
  • Work closely with our commercial partnerships to ensure we leverage the partnership and tie into their marketing/promotional platforms
  • Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with Cogo clients and thought leaders
  • Explore sponsorship, speaking engagements and partnership opportunities and make suggestions for best opportunities
  • Be a brand guardian and ensure the Cogo message is heard and seen by our target audiences
  • Oversee the annual communications budget and ensure its use is fully maximised
  • Contribute to and help maintain Cogo marketing assets including website, social media, newsletter, blog, media kit, etc in coordination with Cogo’s global comms and marketing teams. Help create high-quality marketing materials/video, case studies, etc
  • Maintain a good working relationship with Cogo’s global comms and marketing teams, including but not limited to PR, designers, brand ambassadors, and content creators.


    • 5 – 10 years of experience in the marketing and communications area, creating, implementing and overseeing marketing and communications plans and executing comprehensive multi-discipline marketing strategies
    • You will be able to draw on a good depth and breadth of experience appropriate for the requirements of the position, working cross functionally with internal stakeholders across the APAC regions to help build and develop marketing plans and brand awareness as well as key external partners
    • You have successfully launched and sustained multi-discipline brand awareness and credibility campaigns
    • You understand the platforms, channels and approaches that will enable you and the immediate and wider teams you work closely with to execute dynamic marketing and PR strategies
    • You have experience establishing metrics and measuring the success of brand and marketing activities over time and are able to present actionable insights based on these metrics and measurements
    • You have a demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving Keeping up with market trends for our industry and respond appropriately
    • A mix of both start-up and corporate experience would be nice to have, but not essential

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to form meaningful relationships built on transparency and trust
      • You have a demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and working in at times a very fast paced start-up environment
      • Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams and equally effective working in different environments (remote, office, etc)
      • Able to commit to meetings outside of normal working hours to engage with our global team
      • Have an open, pragmatic mindset that is able to pick up on complex terminology within the sustainability space as well as the ability to encourage others to take action
      • Comfortable working in both technical and non-technical spaces
      • Have a curious and self-starter mindset and seek to suggest improvements to our way of working as we grow

        The salary range for this role is $79,000-$107,000. Cogo operates full pay transparency across the company and is committed to equal pay opportunities.
