Community Foundations of NZ is the national membership organisation supporting and uniting all of the regional Community Foundations across Aotearoa New Zealand. Our aim is to grow a high performing network of Community Foundations which encourage and enable generosity, and for every New Zealander to be able to affect lasting change wherever their home or heart may be.
We are a young organisation, established 2013, and work for the growing network of Community Foundations, which operate in a unique space between the philanthropy and the charity sector.
Our Community Foundation members (17) work with generous donors building endowment funds for communities and distribute the income as grants, with a mission to strengthening the local charity sector. We also connect people and channel resources to where they are needed, so our members are increasingly focused on being facilitators and connectors of community-led change.
We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a senior manager to join our team in what is a new role, seeking the right person with sound knowledge in bequest fundraising and strategic planning, keen to take on a capacity building and workshopping role with staff and governance Boards across New Zealand.
The key goal of this role is, through knowledge transfer and organisational development, to grow and maintain high performing teams and governance across the network. The role is focused developing and nurturing a philanthropic culture, leading collaborative learning and capacity building. It includes designing workshops and training programmes, which can be in person or online, at times in conjunction with guest presenters.
The role will suit an excellent facilitator, knowledgeable in major gifts/bequest fundraising and governance best practice and will involve some travel (we envisage averaging around one trip per month), to locations around NZ.
Your location is flexible, Wellington preferred, however we will consider any location around NZ, as much of the work can be carried out remotely.
This is a new, contract role for 20 hours per week, pro rata $93k-114k p.a. ($45-55 per hour), initially for a fixed term of 12 months, with potential to extend and grow the role for the right candidate.
