Te tūnga | The role

Reporting to either the Managers of the Needs and Analysis, Analysis Operations, or Products and Services teams, your main focus will be to design, develop and/or test and implement processes, methods and/or systems to support and enable the assessment of 2023 Census data quality and delivery of data in various products and services.

You will need to apply conceptual and creative thinking to explore new ideas, while ensuring quality, best practice and continuous improvement. The role involves keeping current systems and processes up to date, making improvements to these systems and working on designing new, innovative systems and methods to put into operation in our organisation.

You will be a technically minded, adaptable learner, who picks up new tools and systems quickly so you can provide the expert advice your internal and external customers need.

As a part of your role, you will work with teams within the Census Programme and across Stats NZ. You will also mentor and give guidance to other analysts in the team.

We are recruiting for fixed term multiple opportunities from now and ending in 2024 (April or June approximately)

  • Experience in working to tight deadlines, good time management skills, and ability to adapt and respond to new information
  • Be a team player, and experience mentoring and supporting others
