We are currently looking for an Investigator to join our growing Compliance & Monitoring team and help shape the future of our region. A bit about you: We are looking for a person who has an absolute passion for attention to detail, coupled with a curious mind. As an investigator, it is desirable that you have practical regulatory experience and a passion for sustainable resource management in order to make a real difference in the way resources are managed here in Tairawhiti. You will know how to research case law, apply relevant legislation and construct investigation files. Effective dispute and conflict mediation skills are necessary for delivering successful outcomes. You will have a high level of interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
Your day will look like: As an investigator you play a lead role in ensuring enforcement activities arising from monitoring programmes are transparent, robust and meet best practice standards. You will accompany monitoring officers on site visits, documenting investigations to build case files and present recommendations to management for elevated enforcement action. You will assist the enforcement manager in prosecutions regarding breaches of resource consent conditions, resource management plan rules, and Resource Management Act offences and provide a mentoring role to others in the compliance and monitoring team.
