Full-Time Intermediate/Senior UX Researcher
Location: Wellington, NZ (with remote working options)
Contract: Full time
Closing date: 1st August 2021
Start Date: 15/09/2021
CoGo is a free app and real-time API that helps people understand, reduce and offset their carbon footprints. Powered by Open-Banking technology, the CoGo App is integrated with 35 banks in the UK and 5 banks in NZ, with over 100,000 users in those markets.
The CoGo API enables banks and other corporations to integrate carbon and other sustainability data into their customer experiences – for example providing a bank customer a monthly carbon footprint statement or showing an online supermarket shopper the percentage of their products that are made by locally-owned businesses.
We have partnered with some of the biggest banks in the UK and NZ, and are set to launch with bank partners in Australia later this year. Our mission is to empower 100s of millions of people to use their money to shape a future they truly value, and in doing so solve issues like climate change, plastic waste and social inequalities. Let’s go change the world – let’s CoGo!
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a UX Researcher to join our growing product team in Wellington, New Zealand. Over the next year we expect to grow our user base to over 100,000 users, as well as building integrations with some major partners. The role needs an adaptable and creative person as your core purpose will be to understand our users so you can aid in the development of experiences that CoGo users will love. As part of a small team you’ll have a large impact on the direction of the app and the future growth of CoGo.
The day to day responsibilities include:
Responsibility for producing user experience research and testing to inform the development of our products.
Growing a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people our products are designed for and ensure that this knowledge is embraced across the organisation.
Framing problems and providing optimal research methodologies.
Scoping, planning, and leading research activities, including new and existing features – from open-ended exploratory research to concept validations
Designing and running usability testing, conducting interviews, and surveys with our current and future users.
Designing and running co-creation, journey mapping, and service design workshops with internal teams.
Aligning research plans with product objectives – developing hypothesis and success metrics needed to measure the effectiveness.
Designing, developing, and implementing CoGo’s ongoing research programme to ensure we’re continuously gathering user insights to drive and inform our strategic direction.
Working closely day-to-day with Designers, Product Managers, Head of Insights and Engineering Team.
Growing CoGo’s research understanding and capability.
Driving research processes and focussing on what the organisation needs, leading to meaningful user-centred actions.
Ensuring a shared understanding of your user experience responsibilities across all of CoGo.
A human-based approach to research, an inquisitive and critical thinker, with a systematic approach, and high EQ.
Promote, encourage, and support user testing and research.
Ability to communicate innovative solutions such as wireframes (both digital and lo-fi prototypes) to visually showcase and test ideas
Be comfortable planning and conducting desk research, user testing, customer interviews, surveys, ethnography, card-sorting, tree-tests, journey maps, personas, service design, and workshop design (remotely and in person).
Proven analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to analyse key focus areas of qualitative research.
Able to design and run quantitative research including surveys, longitudinal studies, and systematic observations.
Collate customer feedback and insights to help inform the product roadmap.
Experience of reporting findings effectively and providing meaningful, easily understood insights.
Outstanding communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to explain ideas simply and clearly while listening carefully to others.
Understand and have empathy for users of all abilities and demographics.
3+ years’ experience of working in a user experience research role.
Experience using a range of role specific tools, including Survey Gizmo/Monkey, Optimal Workshop, Miro, Figma, or similar tools.
Direct experience with the above is a plus, however above all we’d expect you to be familiar with the common tools and processes required by the position, and able to quickly pick up similar software.
Excited to work in a company making a positive change in the world, and passionately engaged in the CoGo mission.
Loves learning and seeks to suggest and carry out improvements to the technologies and processes used as we grow
