Role: Fundraising Manager, Christchurch

Type: Full time (32 hours), Permanent (flexible work days)

Salary: Circa $80,000 depending on experience

298 Youth Health Centre is a not-for-profit organisation created to provide free medical and social support services for young people aged 10-24 years. Their team is dedicated to providing an accessible, friendly, non-judgemental service that prioritises the needs of the people they see. 298 Youth Health Centre is one of the 11 Youth One Stop Shops across New Zealand.

This is an exciting time to join 298 Youth Health. We are looking for our first Fundraising Manager to take part in the development of our new fundraising strategy with support from an external fundraising agency. The Fundraising Manager will then be responsible of the implementation of this strategy to generate short, medium, and long-term revenue through multiple revenue streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential fundraising opportunities, building relationships, and securing financial support from a number of target audiences. This new role will also be responsible for developing fundraising resources and communications, managing the supporter database, website, and social media platforms for the organisation.

The successful candidate will:

• Preferably have 3-5 years of fundraising/income-generating experience, with a solid history of securing gifts from individuals and/or businesses, or strong sponsorship experience in the corporate sector or similar

• Have good project management skills and the ability to multitask

• Be a natural relationship builder, with a strong commitment to donor cultivation and care

• Be confident in identifying and evaluating donor prospects and directly asking for financial contributions• Have experience of using a fundraising donor database

• Have a strategic, long-term understanding of fundraising principles

• Have the ability to write effective donor-centric communications, for example newsletters, appeals and letters

• Be genuinely inspired by our mission and passionate about supporting young people
