Funding Assessor 

  • Full time, one-year, parental leave cover
  • Ideally based in Auckland or Northland, but we are open to applicants based elsewhere who have good knowledge of these regions

This is a great opportunity for a critical thinker with exemplary written and verbal communication skills to join our assessment team for one year, covering parental leave. 

 As a Funding Assessor, your key role is to assess requests for funding across Foundation North’s funding programmes, and make recommendations that align with our focus areas.  You will have a keen eye for detail, set high standards for your work and be able to complete work to set timeframes. 

 We have a strong team ethos, peer reviewing each other’s work, supporting each other in our collective mahi, with shared goals and deadlines, and we take our vision and values seriously. 

 Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu – What you will bring 

Key to your success will be your inate ability for analytical thinking and the ability to express that clearly.  You will also be able to: 

  •  Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years Assessment experience or the equivalent in analysis, financial knowledge and written communication.
  • Get to grips with the detail of an application while keeping in mind the big picture of our vision and focus areas
  • Understand financial documents – you can tell the story behind the numbers
  • Develop positive relationships, supporting our applicants with advice where needed, and working with all the teams in our Funding Unit
  • Plan, organise and manage your work effectively – we work at pace
  • Be adaptable to changes in our methods and presentation of assessment
  • Understand Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and its principles

 You will also: 

  • Bring a ‘can do’ attitude, taking responsibility for your learning and achievement.
  • Have a reputation for getting things done – you’re a finisher
