Internship (Voluntary) Enthusiastic Individual
We are seeking some enthusiastic individuals to help organise our arts festival!
You may be any skill level, beginner or experienced, the main criteria is enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and an ability to work in a team.
This role would suit anyone studying event management, seeking work experience, or who requires a flexible schedule and wants to contribute positively to our community.
The roles are flexible but are likely to include:
– event coordination (booking entertainment, MCs, making site plans and waste minimisation plans)
– attending committee meetings
– networking with the arts community and the wider community
– sending emails, making phone calls, supporting artists
– approaching possible sponsors
– selling advert spaces in our programme
– maintaining open communication with the festival director
– creative ideas and intuition are encouraged
If you have not had experience in these areas, do not despair! You are welcome to learn as you go, building skills, experience and confidence which you will then be able to apply to your next venture in life.
If you are interested in general volunteering opportunities throughout our festival itself (26th October – 9th November), please message us and we will contact you closer to the festival.
There is scope for this role to become a paid position depending on the results of our funding applications.
The Hamilton Fringe Festival is an open access arts festival. We support emerging artists as they go through the process of organising, marketing and hosting their events. For some artists our support is most helpful in the marketing sense, as they are included in the 5000 copies of our programme which are distributed throughout Hamilton, for others it is the morale support, support with funding applications, or with applying for permits. We have found that supporting artists in this way builds their confidence, gives them a supportive platform from which to try new things, and builds their experience and skill base.
