Contract Community Leader
Three-year contract, with extension possible. Remuneration negotiable.
L’Arche Mount Tabor, located in Helensville an Auckland, New Zealand is a faith based (open to all faiths) community of people, with and without intellectual disabilities who share their lives through creating friendships with each other and the wider community. L’Arche Mount Tabor is also an incorporated association, operating with support from an International Envoy from L’Arche International as a member of the International Federation of L’Arche communities.
The Board of L’Arche Mt Tabor is seeking a person with a vocation to serve the L’Arche Community as a Community Leader. As Community Leader in a faith based organisation, you will lead your fellow community members, in line with the core values of L’Arche, and in consultation with and support from the National Leader, L’Arche Australia, the association’s community consultative forum, the Community Council. In addition, you will lead the association under the broad direction of the Board, in providing programs and services, such as supported accommodation, to our core members with intellectual disabilities, their families and other community members.
We are looking for a highly motivated person who will be committed to the L’Arche Identity and Mission, its core values, and can draw on significant previous experience in community based organisations. Your well-developed leadership and management skills, together with extensive experience in and knowledge of the disability services sector, will enable you to guide the organisation through and support it to find new and creative ways of doing business. These skills will also enable you to provide strong support to the Board in ensuring that L’Arche Mount Tabor remains a financially secure and well-managed organisation, committed to its staff and community members. Your personal integrity and record of working with vulnerable people meet the highest standards.
