Part-Time Community Engagement and Fundraising Manager
The Cannons Creek Boxing Academy opened its doors in July 2014 and has become a well established community asset in Eastern Porirua, engaging with 200+ young people and their whanau from the wider Porirua region every week.
The Academy is the second youth facility based on the successful Naenae Boxing Academy model and is part of the national Billy Graham Youth Foundation (BGYF). Every BGYF academy is a community led, grass roots operation, seeking to engage with and care for their valuable tamariki and rangatahi (9-18+ years); providing an environment for long-term youth-led social change.
We are looking for someone who can grow local and regional community awareness of the work of the Cannons Creek Boxing Academy, someone who is passionate about community and young people.
You will have the skills and experience to build on existing stakeholder relationships and develop new relationships with a wide variety of potential stakeholders.
You will have fundraising experience and the ability to express the vision of the Cannons Creek Youth Charitable Trust clearly, especially through grant writing. The Cannons Creek Boxing Academy and its beautiful young people will help you; by welcoming stakeholders into the Academy and by engaging with them in community.
You will need to be a solid administrator with strong IT skills and an excellent organiser.
Experience with Salesforce CRM database will be a bonus.
You will be highly motivated with loads of initiative and enjoy working independently and as part of the team.
The role is part-time but has the potential to become full-time as you work closely with the Naenae Youth Charitable Trust (Naenae Boxing Academy) and the Billy Graham Youth Foundation.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference in a community!
