About the Social Change Collective
The Social Change Collective (SCC) is a platform connecting young people to action social and environmental issues.
We host bi-monthly events on social or environmental issues aimed at informing and educating us and attendees. We end each event with a series of “Actions” that each guest can easily sign up to so that they can continue the kaupapa of the event and contribute to social change in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are a platform for the awesome organisations already out there: through our events, we connect young people with these organisations and their causes, as well as subject-matter experts and opportunities.

How are we run?
We are a volunteer-platform, run by two committees in Wellington and Auckland. Nationally, we have 8 Event Managers and 7 Trustees. The SCC has grown rapidly over the past 4 years, with around 70-100 people attending each of our events and a recently launched Youth Governance Programme. We’ve had a Coordinator for the past year and a half, and we have secured funding to recruit a new regular pair of hands to support our work and help the Social Change Collective grow.
About the role
We’re looking for a new Co-ordinator. We need someone who is highly organised to make sure our events run smoothly; to manage our correspondence, social media engagement, and ongoing administration; and to support our kaupapa of getting young people (35 and under) on Community Governance Boards.

Our ideal candidate is:
- Based in Auckland or Wellington
- A people person with great communication skills who enjous building and maintaining relationships with our stakeholders
- A ‘humble hustler’ who can make sure things get done
- Highly organised and self-motivated
- Knows their way around the web (facebook, instagram, mailchimp, gmail, wix website)
- An eye for marketing and social media
- A proven ability to juggle priorities
- A University student or already working part-time
This is a fixed-term part-time role from as soon as possible to August 2022, approximately 10 hours a week, paid hourly at living wage (or on negotiation for a higher salary). This is a flexible, remote-working role with occasional liaison with our Committee. Our preference is for someone who is Auckland or Wellington-based.
