Full-Time Co-Director (Campaigner and Community Organiser)
This role is co-managing and executing the organisation’s campaign and volunteer strategy, fundraising, and operations. You will work closely with the other Co-Director to manage your shared responsibilities. This is a dynamic role that requires strong people skills, great time management, and flexibility. You should also demonstrate a passion to progress action on climate change.
As 350 Aotearoa is a small organisation, both staff will have diverse workloads that require a flexible, can-do approach. The core focus of your work will be managing and executing campaigns that dismantle the social licence of the fossil fuel industry. This involves collaboration with the other Co-Director as well as volunteer campaigners, to develop campaigns, actions and events. You will share responsibility for administration and fundraising.
This role will report to, be supported by, and work collaboratively with the 350 Aotearoa Board Chairperson, with support from a Campaign Strategy Coach. The role will require some travel within New Zealand.
We believe that climate change disproportionately hurts the most marginalised people in society — including people of colour, people from working-class backgrounds, women and LGBTQIA+ people. We believe that these communities must be centred in the work we do. Hence, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other diverse communities.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, parental status, or disability status. We also recognise that applicants’ experience in campaigning and facilitation may be in voluntary work.
