Part-Time Child and Caregiver therapist

Job Description
Are you passionate about the rights of children to feel safe and to live a good life?
We are seeking a therapist to join our child and family team to provide therapeutic interventions to children and their caregivers. We are looking for:
- A child psychotherapist, psychologist, counsellor, or social worker who has knowledge of the dynamics of child sexual abuse and its effects on families and non-offending caregivers
- Experience in working with families and couples
- An understanding of human development across the lifespan
- Capacity to work effectively in a team, at times with a co-therapist
- Feminist understanding of the use and misuse of interpersonal power
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of Te Tiriti O Waitangi principles
HELP has been providing services to survivors of sexual violence since 1982

- Therapy for survivors and their families
- Family reconciliation work following intrafamilial abuse if appropriate
- Prevention programme We Can Keep Safe for preschool children and their parents and caregivers
- 24/7 Telephone support
- Support at forensic medical examinations, police interviews, and court processes
- Advocacy for survivors and law reforms
